Background of Huai Khwang
Huai Khwang is one of the 50 districts of Bangkok, Thailand, located east of the city center and is famous for the Huai Khwang Night Market that starts at 07:00 PM and onwards throughout the night. In the market, you will find a large number of food stalls, restaurants, fruit vendors, vegetable sellers, meat, and fish vendors.
As you walk along Pracharat Bamphen road, you will find a number of restaurants and food stalls as well in Huai Khwang Night Market. The Huai Khwang area/district came from an area that used to be part of Phaya Thai. After changes were made to the district in 1978, which created changes from the former size with neighboring districts Phaya Thai and Bang Kapi, and again in 1993, which then created the new Din Daeng district.
The Din Daeng district is sub-divided into three sub-districts (Khwaeng)
About Huai Khwang Night Market
Huai Khwang Market is open 24 hrs and starts to get really busy in the late morning. The massage shops do not close til around 4 am and great food is always available. There are always many Thai Ladies coming late until the night for cosmetic surgery or beauty enhancements.
At the corner of Ratchada road and Pracharat Bamphen road, and right before you walk into the Huai Khwang Market, there is an Elephant God shrine called Ganesh, where devotees offer their prayers.
If you walk further down into the market you will see the typical fish, vegetable, and fruit stalls that make up the food markets around Bangkok.

Anthony Bourdain on Thailand
“I remember the moment I first realized I’ve been living my whole life in black and white. It was like discovering a color I never knew existed before. A whole new crayon box full of colors, that was it for me. From then on, there was no putting the pieces back together. No going home. Things were different now. Asia had ruined me for my old life.”

Sa wa dee krap my friend,
I honestly have never stayed at a hotel around here but I just put some links on hotels next to the market/mrt up in the page for you to check out. Probably the best thing to do is click on my banner to check out all the hotels around the area and their reviews. It will give you the closest ones to the mrt by kms and other reviews on the hotels. In my opinion, you need one closest to the MRT because the market is right there and then you can cruise around town easily. The main road that the market sits next to is Pracharet Bamphen Road. If you walk down this road you will run right into it and it kind of has connected streets of the market from this road. I stay around this area so if you have any other questions hit me up. Have fun my friend
